XHO_X HOUSE_DAMAVAND

An architecture designed for families who want to take a break and relax away from the city routine in nature.

The holiday house to Mount Damavand is given by the ‘intersection of two perpendicular parallelepipeds that are on two different levels. Its shape is well suited to the sides of the mountain located in a strategic position between the road link with neighboring Tehran and the sports resorts. The two plants are dictated by an imaginary grid, therefore, have the same dimensions, but different functions, distributed inside in relation to the landscape.  The living area is the core located in the centre that connects two separated sleeping areas on the two sides; one of these two areas is reserved for guests or children and is preceded by a small study/library, and on the other side there is the main bedroom. The floor is crowned with a large window that allows light to enter from the south creating comfortable environments in both rooms in part of the house reserved for common functions. The lower floor was reserved instead for a relaxation area or rather a small spa where several “stations” sensitive to different functions are connected by a circular path. Only source of natural light of this environment is the window to the south too “weak” to illuminate all the space but enough to frame the breathtaking scenery.

Narrow slits in the ceiling that penetrate the fog shy of fumes and smells inside as opposed to the pure white of outer space typical of the winter season.
